2017 Stampin' Up! Christmas

I teased you last week with non-christmas projects from the 2017 Holiday catalog; this week I'm going to show you Christmas finally!  I have had a blast playing with the Christmas stamps.  You know I love making Christmas Cards - preferably ones with a jillion steps that are completely impractical to duplicate!

Here are a few of my favorite GPA cards (Gorgeous Pain in the A$$)!
This is made using Champagne Foil Paper and it's gorgeous!

More Champagne Foil paper and Both Layers of the Night in Bethlehem Thinlits!

I Took this Gold and Whte Striped Gift Bag Up a Notch with Multiple Layers!

This Shy Elf is so Cute when Watercolored with Non-traditional Colors!

I didn't make JUST impossible to duplicate cards!  I made a few cards for class and cards that are perfect for your Christmas cards.

Check out my holiday schedule at www.spreadjoystamping.stampinup.net for my holiday classes.  Find some free time in there for YOUR private girls' night out and give me a call and we will get you on my schedule.

Private classes are so much fun!  You bring the girlfriends and the wine and I bring the fun!

Holiday Fun!

The 2017 Holiday Catalog is out and it's amazing!  I've been busy playing with all of the latest stamps.

It's always such fun to see what you can do with new things.

Spooky-licious Halloween Treats

I used the new Halloween DSP as the topper for these treats.  I think the purple dark chocolate kisses are pretty!

These darling white pizza boxes are sized to hold a cookie!

These pizza boxes will be great to have all year long!  You can put a cookie in them, a tiny treat...or 3X3 cards!

Not every stamp set in the Holiday Catalog is just for the holidays.  This wine set was designed by one of the million dollar sales achievers.  She wanted a set all about wine!

There are a couple of Christmas stamps in this set that are just plain funny!

Guess what this is?

A gift card holder!

These last four projects for today are from our Paper Made Prettier Team meeting on September 9.  I think Kay covered Halloween and Fall pretty well here.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for the next meeting!

These cute treats are from our team meeting!

Just wait until you see what I've done with the Christmas Stamps!  I've used all kinds of paper and have really stepped out of the "Christmas mould."

Contact me to schedule your private workshop with your friends and see the fun things we can make together!

Birthday Memories Suite

Happy, Happy Birthday to You!

Have you ever fallen in love at first sight?  No, not with a boy, with a Stampin' Up! Suite!  Well, I did with the Birthday Memories Suite in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  Turn to page 68 in your catalog right now...I'll wait.

Birthday Memories Sutie

Ok, now. look at those two pages.  Aren't they lovely?  First off, this suite consists of Designer Series Paper, a Stamp Set, Framelits, Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments, four colors of ribbon, and a cardstock pack.  Wow!
Honeycomb Balloons

Stitched-Edge Ribbon comes in Pacific Point, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzleberry

Now, turn to page 189 to take a closer look at the DSP.  Check out how many colors are in the DSP...12! yes, 12 colors (plus Whisper White)!  Seriously, this DSP will go with AN*Y*THING!

Birthday Memories DSP

Now flip back to page 68.  Look at the framelits.  We all know that framelits "frame" stamped images, right?  Making those stamped and colored images easy to cut out...but wait, these framelits are better, do you know why??  They also MATCH THE IMAGES ON THE DSP!  No, really they do!  I know you're going to want to cut out those foxes, girls, cakes, balloons, and poodles, and Stampin' Up! knew you would too so they made it super easy!  They're awesome that way.

Kay, Cindy, Patience, and I had a big ole' BOGO sale on Saturday.  We each picked a suite, stamp set, or theme and made a display showcasing it.  I chose this suite, and might have slightly gone overboard...just a tiny bit.

Display showing cards and gift packaging
Because yes, noise makers!

I know you want this Suite, so let me know before the end of June because I'll throw in the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments when you order the bundle of the stamp set, framelits, and DSP - item number 145294 - Birthday Delivery Bundle - $62.00 (that's a 10% savings).

Pick-a-Pattern

I am loving the DSP in the 2017-2018 catalog!  The designs feel fresh and trendy.  One of my favorites is the Pick a Pattern Suite.  The paper is bright, but not overwhelming.  And the patterns on the back are absolutely great!  I think I might like them more than the "pretty" side!

In these two cards I used the two papers that have black graphic patterns on the back.  These are great "not boring" neutrals!  I also used the piece that has Flirty Flamingo flowers on it.

Flirty Flamingo Sweetness

I love this cupcake stamp set so much!  It's triple layer (!!) stamping on both the cupcake liner and the frosting.  Doesn't it look delicious?  I'm sure that Flirty Flamingo frosting is strawberry flavored.  See the black graphic print?  It lets you use Basic Black, but not Boring Black!  I think it makes this sweet cupcake edgier...like Joan Jett's cupcake (I just dated myself, didn't I?)

You're Awesome, Graduate!
I attended two college graduations yesterday (yay, Jen and Tyler!).  I'm still in a graduation card state of mind.  I love how this patterned Basic Black paper goes so well with this '50s style marquee.  This whole card makes me think of drive-in movie theaters and sock hops!

I'm looking forward to showing you all of the new (AMAZING) Designer Series Paper (DSP) that's coming out on June 1!

I Love Watercolor Pencils!

I absolutely love our new watercolor pencils.  I so very much enjoy feeling like an artist when I use them!  Unfortunately I seem to have "misplaced" my watercolor pencils.  How, oh how, could I lose a box of pencils?

Before  I lost them I made a couple of cards that I love and then today I made a card using only the four pencils that came in the April Paper Pumpkin kit! The set has pink, purple, yellow, and blue; with those colors you can also make orange and green.  That's a pretty good array of colors to make a quick card with.

My preferred method to blend the watercolors is to use blender pens.  I like the control they offer; I sometimes get a little out of control when I use water and a brush!  But if I'm doing a large area, I seem to get the best results with a brush...it's just too hard to get good coverage and not end up with pencil marks in large areas with the blender pens.

Here are a few of my favorite watercolor creations.

What is a BOGO sale?

We are having the mother of all BOGO sales on Sturday, June 17 from 10 am to noon at Asbury United Methodist Church.  FOUR demos will be bring their retired products to sell.

Entry to the sale is $15 and includes all the shopping you can stand, four Make n Takes using new catalog products, and coffee and sweet goodies baked by me.

But what is BOGO, Elizabeth?

You buy retired product and the get NEW products  of equal value for just the cost of shipping and tax!

How can you pass that up?  Buy a $20 stamp set and $30 thinlits and get $50 of new merchandise for just $9.68!  That's $100 worth of product for less than $10!

You do not want to miss this.  Keep your eyes peeled for an email.

The Sultan is Calling

Stampin' Up! released a new Suite in this "not really, but almost" time.  You know the new catalog is coming, the retiring list has been released, and the clearance rack is full of goodies!  But who wants to spend the whole month of May just waiting...no one, that's who!

Stampin' Up! read our minds and released the Eastern Palace Suite a whole month early!  This release is a little different as it's being offered only in bundles, but each bundle has a free gift in it!

Eastern Palace Bundles
The Premier Bundle has a package of the new Very Vanilla Thick cardstock in it as your free gift.  I had never used the Whisper White Thick cardstock, but I am in love with this product now!  it makes lovely card bases!  You're going to love it when you try it.

Here are a few cards that I've made with this suite.
Forever Friends

This white patterned paper is my absolute favorite piece from the whole package!  It has Lemon-Lime Twist and Dapper Denim in it and it is just beautiful.  The back of this piece is the blue stripe on the card.  They really compliment each other.

I made a couple of dutch door cards using non-suite colors.  Check them out.
Pattern Stamping
What's a Dutch Door card you ask?  Only the bottom of the card opens, like a Dutch Door, and with the way this card is made (the whole card being Berry Burst) you don't realize it until you open it!

Lemon-Lime door!

I made these for my Eastern Palace Workshop at the end of April.  I was going to have everyone stamp white paper and make their own patterned paper for the card...but it took forever, and I MIGHT have made my sky blue stamp pad purple in one spot...
I knew they'd kill me, so I changed up the colors a little and used the lemon-lime twist patterned paper as you see in the second card.

We had such a fun time in the Eastern Palace workshop. M'Liss and Elisha both fell in love and placed their order.

If you're in love, contact me now because the freebies are only available with the bundles and only until May 31!

SO MANY AMAZING SWAPS!

I signed up for a Product Purchase Premier swap (PPP is the Pre-order that is only available to those who attend On-Stage).  I signed up for two groups.  For each group I made 21 cards just alike (but each group's card was different) and got back 20 cards (one from each person was given to the lady organizing the swap.)

Don't forget that all of these stamps and Designer Series Paper will be available when the new catalog launches on June 1 (only 20 days from now).  And we just might be using some of these in the stamp a stack class on May 23.

I got back so many gorgeous cards! Here are my favorites from the swap.

This one was made by our very own Kay Cogbill!

This is my favorite!

This one is by someone on the Artisan Design Team!

I inadvertently separated the cards from the names of who made them (oopise!) while taking pictures.  If you have a particular favorite, let me know and I will try to figure out who made it!

Feel free to CASE any of these!

The Curvy Keepsake Box on a Sugar High!

I have been busy...inspired by Pinterest and then I just sort of lost control!

And yes, you can make almost anything with the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit.

I saw a Swarovski Crystal keepsake of Cinderella's Carriage.  I immediately thought, "that looks so much like the curvy keepsake box, I wonder if I could make it?"

Well a few days, a lot of Bermuda bay glimmer paper and acrylic window sheets, and a little imagination later, I think I've done a pretty good job re-envisioning it.

I had a magnetic closing book-shaped box that I got at Tuesday Morning on my craft table, so I went for a storybook feel with it.

Tell me what you think!

Once Upon A Time

So Many Butterflies!
And there might just be a surprise inside!

Don't let the butterflies out!

Saleabration Fun!

Both the 2017 Occasions catalog and Saleabration kick off on January 4th!  This year's catalogs are amazing!  So much gorgeous stuff!  I have been having fun with my new products and thought I would share one of my favorite things from the Saleabration catalog...coloring paper!

Inside the Lines paper colored with watercolor pencils
I had so much fun coloring this page.  I was just going to color enough to make one card, but decided to make a whole notecard set, so I colored the whole page.  I used our new watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  It turned out beautifully.  I was so excited to make cards with it that I cut it up before I could get a finished picture!  Oops

I used our notecards so I could get more from one sheet of paper.  Coloring is a lot of work and I wanted it to go a long way!
Inside the Lines Notecard Set
I am in love with these cards!  After I finished them, I decided that they needed a special box to make them even more special.  I made a hinged box from Rich Razzleberry with a Daffodil Delight Belly Band with a dragonfly on top.

The Inside the Lines coloring paper is a great Saleabration item.  It is versatile, can be colored in whatever color scheme you chose or can be left uncolored for a great monochromatic look.
This paper can be yours with a $50 order.
