Spring Stamp Camp

What To Do When You Can't Go To OnStage?

You Have Your Own Stamping Day!

OnStage was just too far for me to travel to this time.  I used a whole week of vacation for Orlando (DisneyWorld with my Stampin' Besties was totally worth it!!) and then took a week off for another worth it vacation in February and the vacation-day-math just didn't work out to drive to OnStage this time.  What's a girl to do? Have her own Stamp Camp, that's what!  I held an all-day Stamp Camp on Saturday, April 13th.  I couldn't think of a good place to have it...all-day is a long time slot in a business's calendar.  My husband had the best idea; why not have it at the neighborhood wine bar? They are closed during the day, and the co-owner is one of my customers!  It worked out perfectly!  They have tables, chairs, and a small kitchen.  We had tons of room; we did get a lot of curious looks through the window though! LOL

I wanted to celebrate the beginning of spring here in Arkansas so we used the Happiness Blooms Suite.
It was raining so hard when I packed the Jeep
that I made a raincoat for my
Craft n' Carry Tote! LOL

It turned out to be a rainy day, so the cheeriness of the gorgeous paper was much welcomed! I designed five cards and a tag.  Everyone who attended received a package of Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper, half of a package of the matching cardstock, the Bloom By Bloom stamp set, and several embellishments.  They used their paper, stamps, and embellishments to make their cards and tag.
The card on the left is a gate fold card with a belly band and
the one on the right uses the matching Bloom By Bloom
Spectrum Pad that I made.

The top card with the Pineapple Punch flowers
is CASE-d from two Artisans.  I changed out the
ribbon to the Lovely Lipstick grosgrain.
The tag was inspired by one designed by my
team leader Kay Cogbill.  I used the cute stamps
in the Cute Crew Punch Box (148535, $45)
to make the tag within a tag!

The card on top was CASE-d from Pinterest,
I love the way the flowers frame the message
at the bottom of the circle. The card at the bottom
is the second card that we made using the
Bloom By Bloom Spectrum pad.

Everyone had a great time at Stamp Camp!  A couple of people made their own Spectrum Pads.  I made cards with their pads and took a picture of the pad so I would remember their color combinations.  The pictures of the cards aren't the best, but I did them quickly at the end of camp. They even named their color arrays, and I tried to match the cards to the names of their pads! LOL

Introducing: The Mermaid

Designed by Ava and Ginny

After much consideration, Ava and Ginny chose Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst, and Gorgeous Grape for their Spectrum Pad.  The colors were an homage to the ocean and mermaids.  They named their color array, The Mermaid.  I created a card the felt like the flowers that one would find under the sea WITH the mermaids.

May I Present: Forest

Created By Terri

Terri used Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy to create Forest.  She wanted to go from very dark green to very dark blue.  Mint Macaron is the perfect hue between the two colors because it seems to hang in the balance right between green and blue.

I wanted to use a stamp that had the same feel as Terri's Spectrum pad, I love the largest stamp in the Peaceful Place Stamp Set(146689, $22).  It was a little trick to ink using this pad, but I think the finished card is breathtaking, don't you?  This stamp shows this Spectrum Pad to it's full effect!  Terri did a great job selecting these forests, outdoorsy colors for her pad!

Hosting a Stamp Camp is one of my favorite things!  It's a nice laid back day for everyone.  No one has to bring a lot of stuff, just a paper trimmer, scissors, and adhesives (inks if they don't want to share).  I don't have to give a ton of instructions or do a whole lot of prep-work because they cut most of their own paper!

If you see anything here that you can't live without, you can email me or you can order it yourself at Spread Joy Stamping.

I'll be having another one in the fall, be sure to keep your eye out for the date!

Joyful Stamping,
Elizabeth
